More than £6,000 worth of bikes were stolen in a ram-raid on a shop in New Basford.

Two men in a red Ford Fiesta used it to smash into the shop,, jumped out of the car, then rode off on two bicycles leaving the stolen car behind.

Detective Sergeant James Bond said: “We would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time of this incident to get in touch.”

It happened just after midnight, in the early hours of Tuesday, at the Specialised shop on Nottingham Road.

The men rode off in the direction of Egypt Road on the bikes which are worth around £3,000 – £3,500 each.

Officers have released pictures of the bikes stolen in the hope someone will recognise them.

Det Sgt Bond said: “They are quite unique in appearance, particularly when it comes to cropping up on selling sites. If you hear of anyone attempting to sell such a bike, we would like to hear from you.”

The ram raiders are described as two white men. One was wearing a grey jumper with a hoodie and jogger bottoms and the second was wearing a white jumper.
