Teenage boy dies in hospital following village motorbike crash

A teenage boy died in hospital following a motorcycle crash in a Nottinghamshire village.
Emergency services were called to Besthorpe Road, Collingham, near Newark at around 11:25am on Saturday, March 29 following reports a rider had come off their bike.
A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries, and Nottinghamshire Police have now confirmed today (Wednesday) that he died on Sunday.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident but the Police are urging anybody with information or relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
Det Con Liah Lane, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the teenager’s family and friends at an extremely distressing time.
“Family members are being supported by specially trained officers.
“We believe a number of passing motorists could be able to help with our inquiries into this incident and I’d urge them to come forward without delay.”
