A video of a teenager body popping outside Rock City has gone viral – and staff at the venue are so impressed they are giving him a gig.
Jamal Sterrett, 19, burst into the impromptu routine on Talbot Street yesterday morning, unaware that he was being filmed by a member of the venue’s staff.
Benedict Mason, Rock City’s social media and web development man, was amazed by his talent and quickly put the video on nightclub’s Facebook page.
It has since gone viral, rocking up well over 70,000 views and around 3,000 likes on Facebook.

Benedict said: “Suddenly this amazing dancer appeared on our steps and started doing his thing.
“I just thought, ‘the people of Nottingham have got to see this’.”
Jamal will now be taking to the Rock City stage during the ‘Tuned’ student event at around 1.00am and will get the VIP treatment including his own dressing room.
Jamal, from St Ann’s, studied at NCN Adams College and is already known by some as a talented mover. He won the Nottingham Playhouse Young Creative of the Year Award during the Summer.
If you want to watch Jamal in body-popping action, doors for Tuned are open at Rock City from 10.00pm following The Fratellis gig. Entry is £5.
