Three men arrested after gun incident and police chase

Three men have been arrested after police were called to a gun incident and later chased a car which failed to stop.

Notts Police say they were first called to Bar Lane, Old Basford, at about 3.40pm on Tuesday after reports of an ‘altercation’ involving a man who had a gun.

A force spokesman said: “At about 9pm officers followed a vehicle believed to be connected with this incident, which failed to stop. After a short pursuit the vehicle was involved in a collision with a car in Shelton Street, St Ann’s.

“Two people were taken to hospital for injuries not believed to be serious and roads were closed while the incident was dealt with.

“Three men have been arrested on suspicion of firearms-related offences. They remain in police custody. Enquiries are ongoing.”

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said one of the people injured was a woman who had to be cut free from a car and taken to hospital.
