Three people have been arrested after a stabbing in the car park of a Nottinghamshire supermarket.
Police were called to Morrisons, in King’s Road, Newark, around 10:35pm on Monday (February 3) after paramedics reported a man had suffered a stab wound.
The man, aged in his 20s, had been assaulted in the supermarket’s car park and was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers then arrested three suspects overnight at addresses in Newark and recovered a knife.
Two 18-year-old men were detained on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm with intent, while another 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. They remain in custody.
DI James Oakton of Nottinghamshire Police said: “We have a team of detectives working hard to progress this investigation.
“Officers worked quickly and efficiently overnight to detain three suspects but we are also asking for the public’s help.
“This incident took place in a supermarket car park and despite the time of day we believe there could have been witnesses.
“Likewise there may be people who have recorded dashcam or other footage which could assist officers with their inquiries.”
