Tom Crawford charged with assaulting a police officer

Tom Crawford has been charged with assaulting a police constable after bailiffs arrived at his home in Carlton.

Two people have been charged with offences after five people were arrested during the eviction.

Tom Crawford, 64, of no fixed address, has been charged with assaulting a police officer who was executing their duty near his home in Carlton.

34-year-old Monika Godos, of Woodthorpe, Nottingham has been charged with assaulting a police constable and a 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an officer.

Protests

A 21-year-old man from Nottingham also received a fixed penalty for obstruction of a highway.

A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence.

The arrests followed a protest by supporters of Tom Crawford after bailiffs arrived at to take possession of his bungalow in Fearne Chase.

Nottinghamshire Police were at the scene to block off the road so that no one except for residents could get onto the property.
