UPDATE: Top Valley police cordon lifted following ‘firearm discharge’

A police cordon in Top Valley has been lifted following a ‘firearm discharge’ in which a window was broken.

Nottinghamshire Police were called to reports of a disturbance on Madryn Walk, Bestwood Park at 12.16am this morning (Friday April 6).

Officers arrived at the property and found evidence of what they believe to be a firearm discharge.

The window of a house was damaged in the incident but it is not known to have caused any injuries.

A spokesperson for Notts Police said: “Our enquiries are ongoing.

“We’d like to reassure residents we believe this was an isolated incident and we’re doing everything we can to trace the person responsible.

“The cordon has now been lifted and we’d like to thank people for their patience.

“We have a patrol plan in place and there will be a continued police presence in the area as we continue with our investigation.”
