Traffic blocked on Meadow Lane after collision near Lady Bay Bridge

The westbound side of Meadow Lane was closed after the collision, which involved a white hatchback.

Drivers are being advised to avoid one of Nottingham’s busiest roads following a crash early on Monday morning.

At least one car was involved in the collision on the A6011 Meadow Lane at around 8.30am on September 2.

The crash happened close to the junction with Lady Bridge, on the westbound side of the road near the Texaco petrol station.

Nottingham Travelwise Tweeted: “Traffic blocked entirely on Meadow Lane inbound diverting down Meadow Grove and Meadow Lane outbound is restricted to lane 2 of 2.

“Police in attendance please use an alternative route.”

Ambulances have arrived on the scene as traffic has been brought to a halt on the westbound side of Meadow Lane.

Police cars and three ambulances are at the scene. A white hatchback could be seen badly damaged outside the petrol station.

The exact number of cars and people involved currently unknown. Nottinghamshire Police have been contacted for further details of the incident.
