Mum pays tribute to 13-year-old boy who died after Bramcote incident

Josh Clark, 13, was taken to hospital from a house in Bramcote

A heartbroken mum has paid tribute to her ‘precious’ son who died after being taken to hospital from a house in Bramcote.

Josh Clark, 13, was found by 999 crews at the address on Sloan Drive just before 1am on Monday.

He was taken to hospital but died on Tuesday night.

His mother, Samantha Annabelle, said: “Josh was my precious and youngest son.

“We all loved him so dearly and his loss will be felt by all of his family and friends.

“He was a young boy with his whole life ahead of him. As a family we are all totally devastated.

“He was a very loving young boy who filled our hearts with happiness and his passing leaves us all with the biggest void that will never be filled.”

A JustGiving page has been set up by Josh’s uncle Martin Smith, to help pay for his funeral. By Thursday afternoon £770 had been raised.

Martin wrote on the page: “This is extremely hard for me to be writing. Sadly my family and myself lost a true key part of our family last night.

“Joshua Clark was my little nephew, and was and still is loved by so many. He was the most loving, kindhearted boy and had the biggest brightest smile.

“He has been taken away from us too early at the young age of only 13. We have set up this JustGiving page to help fund his funeral and give hum the send-off that he deserves.”

Josh was a former student at The Fernwood School in Wollaton.

Headteacher Tracy Rees said: “Josh was a former student at Fernwood School until November 2015. We have been made aware of the tragic incident and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.”

A poem left on Facebook in memory of Josh.

A 14-year-old boy who was also found at the Sloan Drive address on Monday remains in hospital. His condition is described as stable.

Following the incident a 36-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug and was further arrested in custody on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. She has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Flowers, balloons and candles have been left less than half a mile away from Sloan Drive on Airedale Walk, alongside memorial stones, pictures and messages of condolence.

Tributes to Josh have also flooded in on the JustGiving page and social media.

Donna Towler wrote: “Such sad news for a beautiful young boy, my heart goes out to you all. Sleep tight Josh, fly high with the angels.”

Kim Foster posted: “All my love this boy was taken too soon in such a sad way. Josh I love you with all my heart babe, I will always remember you with all my heart babe, I will always remember you as such a loving, caring, young boy who was always willing to help everyone.”
