The chef, who sometimes appears on TV’s Saturday Kitchen will join famous names like Robin Hood, Brian Clough and Carl Froch, who have all had trams named after them.
As part of the tram expansion project, 22 brand new trams will be named after locals over the coming months.
Jamie Swift, NET Marketing Manager said: “Some [trams] have already been given names suggested by members of the community, and we are delighted that one of the fleet will be named after Sat who has done so much to promote Nottingham during his exceptional culinary career.”
Councillor Jane Urquhart from Nottingham City Council added: “Sat Bains is a great ambassador for the city. Not only has he shown what hard work and dedication can achieve, he has helped enhance Nottingham’s reputation as a great food and drink destination.
“The tram naming is the city’s way of celebrating his achievements and thanking him for the important contribution he has made.”
