Two men have been arrested on suspicion of alleged racially aggravated public order offences on a Nottingham mosque, say Notts Police.

The force says it was called at 1.45am on Sunday, June 18, to reports of two men acting ‘suspiciously’ at a mosque in Edwards Lane, Sherwood.

A spokesman said officers attended and a hate crime investigation was launched.

The men have been released on bail.

The spokesman added: “We are committed to working with all of our communities and support them in every way possible. We take hate crime very seriously.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the force on 101.
