UPDATE: Woman dies after Middleton Boulevard crash

A female cyclist has died following a collision with a motorbike on Middleton Boulevard which left the road closed and motorists at a standstill for several hours.

Police crash investigators are appealing for witnesses after the collision which led to the death of the cyclist and a motorcyclist being left in a critical condition.

The 52-year-old woman was pronounced dead shortly after she and the motorcyclist were rushed to the Queens Medical Centre.

The 31-year-old motorcyclist involved is said to be seriously injured.

Traffic came to a standstill and the road was closed between Crown Island and the QMC.

Nottingham City Transport experienced severe delays on many of their bus routes.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is being asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 94 of Tuesday April 21.

All road closures have now been lifted.
