CCTV from a garage shows the huge tree fall (Vid: Nottingham Post)
The moment a huge tree came down across a road narrowly missing a car and pedestrians has been caught on video.
High winds brought on by Storm Henry brought down the tree in Hucknall Road, Carrington, at around 3.30pm on Monday.
CCTV from a nearby petrol stration captured the moment it hit the street, yards from a passing car and what appears to be a man and young child walking on the pavement.
No-one was seriously hurt and council workers cut up and cleared the oak tree away.
As the winds died down today, the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning of ice for parts of Nottingham from 6pm on Tuesday.
A Met Office spokesman said: “Wintry showers will continue on and off overnight.
“Clear skies between areas of showers will allow ice to form on untreated surfaces.
“Temperatures will vary with cloud cover, being coldest under clear skies between showers when icy patches will form from time to time on untreated surfaces.”
Forecasters also urged road users to stick to the main routes that will be gritted and to avoid the untreated surfaces.
The yellow warning is the third most serious of the three warnings operated by the Met Office, with red being the most serious followed by amber.
Yellow means people need to “be aware” of the change in conditions and be ready for travel to be affected.
