Volunteer group caring for Nottingham’s ‘misunderstood’ pigeons

A group of volunteer pigeon fanciers have begun caring for the birds in Nottingham city centre.

Stringfoot Superheroes was found by people who say the humble urban pigeon is often misunderstood and under-appreciated, and deserves more care and attention.

The term stringfoot is used to describe a pigeon whose feet have become entangled – this regularly occurs due to anything from thread to human hair.

The group is dedicated to removing these items – and helping the birds in any other way they can.
