A lorry with a digger which crashed into an underpass bridge, causing long delays across Nottingham, had to be recovered using a mobile crane.
The A6514 was closed at 8.23am on Tuesday (June 5), close to the QMC and beneath the A52.
Both lanes were closed into the afternoon rush hour while the digger was recovered and the road repair. The A52 was also closed in the morning while the bridge was inspected.
Transport Nottingham said a crane was used to recover the load at around 1.30pm, which was caught on video by passersby.
Northbound lanes are expected to open at ~4.30 once the digger has been removed. Southbound lanes require significant repairs so will not be open in time for the evening rush hour. This is likely to cause delays – we advice people to plan alternative routes & allow more time.

‘Significant repairs’ were required on the southbound lane and it did not open until later in the evening.
