Nottinghamshire will remember the fallen in annual remembrance services this weekend.

This year Armistice Day, the 11th hour of the 11th day, of the 11th month, falls on Saturday.

Remembrance Day follows on Sunday, when people give thanks to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in conflict.

On Sunday morning, in a ceremony starting  at Victoria Embankment a wreath will be laid in memory of fallen soldiers and everyone who has served their country.

Then at midday, civic leaders will take the salute at a march past by the South Notts Hussars, who will be parading from a service of remembrance at St Mary’s Church in the city centre to the Market Square.

Several other events are planned on both days around the city and county.
