Bridgford Hall has begun taking bookings for wedding ceremonies again after a £2.4 million pound revamp to become an ‘aparthotel’.

As part of the renovations the Grade II listed building secured a £1.5 million pound grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, with Rushcliffe Borough Council funding the remaining £800,000.

During the ongoing work council registry officers have moved out of the building, but will return to conduct weddings once the renovations are finished.

Councillor Glynn Gilfoyle from Nottinghamshire County Council, said: “We are delighted to be able to take bookings again as the hall has always been a popular wedding venue.”

The rest of Georgian building has been owned by Rushcliffe Borough Council since 1923, but has been occupied by numerous tenants before becoming vacant in 2014.

Glynn Gilfoyle said: “It’s a beautiful and historic building that is set in stunning park grounds right in the heart of West Bridgford town centre.”

The building is set to reopen from June next year, and will house a wedding and registration service where people can get married and then stay overnight in the Hall.

The first and second floors of the venue are being converted into seven apartments, run by Birchover Residences.

Glynn Gilfoyle said: “The restoration will mean the interior will be as beautiful as its exterior and will enhance its original features, making it even more impressive for weddings.”

Throughout the renovation work activities will be held in the building for residents which will include; hard hat tours, work placements, workshops and theatrical performances.
