The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Notts after wind and rain caused damage across the midlands.
A Met Office spokesman said: “There have been several areas across the Midlands that have had damage caused from the strong winds.
“The weather will most likely calm down this evening and nothing as severe as this is expected for the weekend.”
According to Met Office forecasters some frost and icy patches are expected to form during the night with temperatures dropping to 1C.
Nottinghamshire County Council is warning people to look out for snow and ice tonight and plans to grit main routes in the county.

East Midlands Trains are currently experiencing delays due to trees falling onto railway tracks.
Clear-up teams are currently working to remove the trees from the railways.

No further weather warnings are expected over the weekend, when it is expected to stay clear most of Saturday with patches of showers expected through Sunday.
