Stonebridge City Farm Space Shed repaired after vandal attack

Stonebridge City Farm’s Star Wars-inspired shed is back in working order following an attack by vandals last month.

The shed, which was built to replicate the cockpit of Millennium Falcon from the Star Wars films was found with smashed windows on August 25 and was the second time the farm had been targeted.

Waltons, the company that donated the shed to the St Ann’s farm sent the original designer of the shed to measure up for the repairs and they were finally completed on Friday 9 September.

Aaron Ketland, the e-Commerce manager for Walton’s said: “We were obviously very sad to hear about the vandalism that took place and we felt we had to help but we are very happy to see the Space Shed back in its full glory and we hope that Stonebridge are soon back on their feet.”

Both staff and locals have been devastated by the damage and a Go Fund Me page has been set up, which has raised over £1000 to help raise money for the repairs. Waltons hope that this money can be used to support the charity after fixing the Space Shed free of charge.

The farm’s manager Marie Rogers is hoping that they have seen the last of the vandals and that the local children can now enjoy the Star Wars shed in all its glory.

She said: “We were so devastated and our precious space shed is a one off and the kids love playing in it.

“Waltons and the community have been fantastic, we are hoping to put the money raised towards better security so these things can’t keep happening”.
