A ‘Star Wars shed’ modelled on the Millennium Falcon has been donated to Stonebridge City Farm.

The cockpit replica was given to the St Ann’s venue by specialist shed firm Waltons, which has previously donated a cabin for animal handling sessions.

Farm manager Marie Rogers said: “We’re delighted and we just know the kids will be lining up to play in it, complete with control panels.”

The children will be queuing up to get in there

The landing of the shed was celebrated with characters from the Star Wars saga, including Princess Leia and evil nemesis Darth Vader.

Stephen Gee, the farm’s operations co-ordinator, dressed up as Han Solo.

He said: “Walton’s have been very good to the farm these past couple of the years, they really surprised us this time.”

He added: “The children will be queuing up to get in here, it’s great to just let their imaginations run of flying up over Sneinton and St Ann’s and into the universe.”

The play shed, which stands at 7ft tall, can be found in the children’s play area on the farm.

Open daily, the farm relies on public support and donations to continue its upkeep.

It prides itself on offering volunteering opportunities and placements to people with physical and learning disabilities.
