Notts TV is celebrating 10 years on air with a county-wide golden duck hunt.

Notts TV is celebrating ten years on air in May – and you can help us celebrate by joining a county-wide duck hunt.

Launched in 2014, the channel has grown to become one of the leading lights in the UK’s Local TV network. Still independently owned and operated, we’re all about Notts news, sport, culture, and positivity in our home city and county.

Now with a combined reach of more than one million a month across BT/Freeview TV channel 7, Virgin 159, our social media and website, we’re looking forward to many more years of providing a platform for our communities.

Since first going on air on Tuesday, May 27 2014, we’ve run 30,000 Nottinghamshire news stories in our daily live news, and around 7,800 local people have appeared on TV as guests. The news team have reported on six general and local elections, and so far have seen five different Prime Ministers enter the doors of Number 10.

On our website, 9,000 local news stories have been published by our journalists, and 90,000 people follow us on social media – more than double any other local TV channel outside of London.

And through our relationship with Nottingham Trent University and Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies, we’ve helped launch the careers of more than 200 young journalists, presenters, and other TV, radio and film industry professionals… one of them even ended up winning an Emmy!

To celebrate 10 years, we’ve arranged the biggest duck hunt Nottinghamshire has ever seen! Throughout May 2024 we’re planting dozens of gold-coloured rubber ducks at locations around the county, and if you find one, you get to keep it! All we ask is that you take a selfie with your limited-edition gold duck and share it on your socials, tagging Notts TV and using #goldduck.

Notts TV Gold Duck
Will you find one of the gold-coloured rubber ducks Notts TV is hiding around the city and county in May 2024 to celebrate its 10th birthday?

You can see pictures giving clues as to where the gold ducks are being dropped every day in May across all our socials @Notts_TV – on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram

The gold duck is a special edition of the blue rubber ducks which helped launch the channel back in 2014 – in a celebration of Nottingham’s famous way of saying hello: “Ey up me duck”.

The owner of the best gold duck selfie will win a Nottingham goody bag including tickets to a live show at Metronome, plus tickets to this year’s Christmas pantomime at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal. Happy hunting, Notts folk!
