Nottingham Forest Supporters’ Trust say 500 people signed up in the 24 hours after its membership scheme went live on Saturday.
Reds fans from more than 20 different countries have already joined up including from the US , Finland, Sweden, Kenya, Ireland, Spain, South Africa, Belgium, Russia, New Zealand and Australia.
Members have also signed up from all over the UK.
Co-founder and Interim chair of the trust, Richard Antcliff says the response to the membership launch has been “fantastic”.
He said: “We smashed 500 in the first 24 hours, we’ve had members from about 20 different countries so there’s Forest all over the world.
“With the trust being in its infancy it was important to get as many members as we can on board because that gives us legitimacy, you can only speak on behalf of people when you’ve got a membership group.
“We have had an amazing reach, it just goes to show the potential of this football club if we have such a worldwide audience, it’s really positive but at the same time lessons learnt are that as a football club we’ve got so much more we can achieve.”

With the collapse of the John Jay Moores takeover and a series of statements from both the American and current owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi, Forest fans had faced a difficult few weeks.
Mr Antcliff added: “Recent events have pushed us forward, we launched the membership scheme quicker then we had planned to do.
“We brought that forward in essence because the demand was there and we needed to act quick and obviously the uncertainty with the current owner is worrying.
“There are still many questions that are going unanswered and they’re basic questions, so we felt the need to act.”
Our primary aim is safeguarding the future of the football club
After working closely with trust development group Supporters Direct, the Forest Trust was approved by the Financial Conduct Authority in October.
The trust was first launched in April when more than 100 supporters met at the Albert Hall to hear a panel of speakers explain its aims.
The public meeting was organised by Forest fans Mr Antcliff and Thomas Newton who created a Go Fund Me page to raise enough money to put on the event.
It was followed by a vote, with the assembled fans overwhelmingly backing the foundation of the group.
Speaking at the time Mr Antcliff said: “Our primary aim is safeguarding the future of the football club, trying to influence decision making and being a critical friend to the club.”
