Murals thought to have been the only ones produced by Evelyn Gibbs have been restored at St Martins Church in Bilborough.
The murals, painted by the English artist, were thought to have been destroyed but were rediscovered back in 2009 in the ceiling of the church.
The Church was given a grant of £744,000 by the English Heritage trust to replace the murals as well as renovate other aspects of the building.

– After the war she married Hugh Willatt, founder of the Nottingham Playhouse and later Secretary General of the Arts Council.
Hilary Wheat, churchwarden and leader of the renovation project said: “I think people will agree that the new murals are very beautiful.”
“As a child the paintings were really important to me with their bright colours.”
