Customers’ anger as Nottingham Post Office hit by technical faults

Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Post office,
The Post Office on Queen Street, Nottingham, is due to close and move to WH Smith in the Victoria Centre.

Nottingham Post Office customers were left angry after a technical fault meant long delays to post parcels and collect benefits.

The Queen Street Post Office in the city centre was been hit by the nation-wide computer problems which are affecting dozens of other major branches.

By 10.30am on Monday there was a queue stretching out of the door, and some customers said they had to wait three hours to post one item.

The Post Office says it had resolved the problems by mid-morning but customers were still unhappy with the disruption to services.

A spokesperson for the Post Office, said:”We are sorry for any inconvenience or delay caused to customers this morning when our branches experienced problems processing customer transactions.

“Services were impacted from around 9am until just after 10am this morning, though some branches were able to continue to serve customers.

“Our priority was of course to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and to do this there was a very short period when all branches would be affected.

“We are continuing to monitor services to ensure it is business as usual in our branches.”

More information about local branches is available on the Post Office website.
