There are only three days to go until celebrity chefs take to the kitchen to demonstrate their cooking prowess at the Great Food and Drink Festival at Nottingham Castle.

The annual event will run from May 27-29th in its last appearance at the Castle, and will see the likes of Antonio Carluccio, Jean-Christophe Novelli and Adam Simmonds perform cooking demos.

The Festival will open up with Antonio Carluccio career chef, who will be involved in three demos in the kitchen theatre this Saturday and will be holding book signings too.

Jean-Christophe Novelli, dubbed the ‘nation’s best French chef’, will be live on the stage Sunday 29th and will be hosted by Jean-Christophe who regularly appears on TV shows such as ‘This Morning’ and ‘Loose Women’.

Event Organiser, Gary Allan said: “We have really pushed the boat out this year because this will be the last year we will be able to host at the castle.

“We also want to make sure everyone has bought tickets in advance because you might get burnt in the queue as we will be close to capacity all day on the Saturday.”

On the final day – Monday 29th – Adam Simmonds will be performing two cooking demonstrations featuring a selection of his signature dishes.

A host of local chefs will also appear. Annie Spaziano of Annie’s Burger Shack and Des Sweeney from The Kitchen at The Cross Keys in Epperstone, are some of the few who have been selected to show their skills.

Food and drink stands will line the castle grounds and thousands of people are expected to attend.

The Organiser added: “We expect a huge record number of people to come to the festival this year mainly because the weather is going to be so good and because our chef line up is very strong this year.

“We have added a lot more for children this year with some new workshops and demonstration theatres.”
