Lisa Butler and her uncle Richard Thompson were found dead at his home on Tuesday.

Two members of the same family who died at a caravan park in Mansfield had both been stabbed, police say.

Richard Thompson, 66, and his niece Lisa Butler, 48, were found injured at Mr Thompson’s home at Tall Trees Caravan Park, Old Mill Lane, Forest Town on Tuesday night.

They were treated by paramedics but died shortly afterwards. Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

Officers said on Friday a post-mortem examination had shown both died from stab wounds.

Notts Police also issued a photograph of Ms Butler, along with a tribute to her from her family, saying she was a “a much-loved wife and mother”.

Detective Inspector Rich Monk, who is leading the investigation, said: “Following the results of the post-mortem examination we now know they died of stab injuries and that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with their deaths.

“We will now prepare a file for the coroner.”
