Nottinghamshire Police have confirmed that the body found in Mansfield is 13-year-old, Amber Peat.
The body has formally been identified as missing Amber Peat.
Police have confirmed that the cause of death was a result of hanging.
The teenager was last seen at 5:30pm on Saturday after leaving her family home.
Officers are not treating her death as suspicious.
Members of the local community have been leaving flowers at the scene where her body was discovered.
Superintendent Matt McFarlane, from the Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our thoughts are with Amber’s family, and we do ask that you please respect their privacy and that of her wider family.”
