Broad eyes Ashes victory

In less than 48 hours, the 4th Ashes Test will begin at Trent Bridge and local lad Stuart Broad will be hoping to regain the Ashes at his home ground.

After winning the 3rd Test within 3 days at Edgbaston last week, England can regain the Ashes with a victory at Trent Bridge.

In Stuart’s eyes, Trent Bridge would be the perfect place to do it as his family will be in attendance, including his father and former Notts batsman Chris Broad.

There is also a personal milestone up for grabs. Stuart is one wicket away from reaching the 300 Test wickets milestone. Only 4 other England players have ever achieved it.

Speaking at a press conference, he shared his thoughts on the impending match.

“It’s going to be a great week playing at my home ground Trent Bridge. I love bowling and batting here, the atmosphere is always good so it does bode to be an exciting week. We are quite conscious as a team of breaking this consistency barrier we have.”

Jimmy Anderson has been ruled out of this Test with a side strain, making Stuart Broad the lead bowler of the England attack.

Mark Wood is expected to come into the team in place of Anderson after he trained with the team this afternoon.

“I’m a big fan of Mark Wood, he’s done nothing wrong in his few test matches so far and if his body gets through the treatment he’s had then he’s going to be in a great position to play”
