Five men arrested following attack in Old Market Square

Five men have been arrested on suspicion of affray in connection with a fight in the Old Market Square.

A 30-year-old man was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre after the attack at about 5.45pm on Saturday (26 November 2016).

His injuries were not life threatening or altering and he later discharged himself.

The men, aged 31, 28, 27, and two aged 23, have been released on police bail pending further enquires.

A cordon was put in place for a short time.
