Forest’s ‘miracle men’ reunited again for book launch

Thirteen members of Forest’s 1979 European Cup winning side came together again as part of the ‘I Believe in Miracles’ book launch.

The book is an extended version of the hit film which premiered at the City Ground last month and went on to earn rave reviews nationwide.

Producer Jonny Owen approached Dan Taylor, chief football writer for the Guardian about writing the book, knowing him to be a huge Reds fan.

Dan accepted without hesitation.

Jonny said: “We pitched to one of the biggest publishers in the country, Headline.”

“Like Danny, they said yes straight away. It was far too good an opportunity to turn down.”

Thirteen of the ‘miracle men’ attended tonight’s signing event with fans at the City Ground megastore, including an ‘I Believe in Miracles’ debut for Republic of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill who is back in the country after leading his side to Euro 2016 qualification.

He missed the film’s Nottingham premiere as he was in Poland with the Republic of Ireland national team.

People love an underdog story

Jonny added: “The film went much bigger than even I could have imagined. I’m so glad the team are getting the credit they deserve. They should be in the football museum after all.

“I firmly believe the book will be just as successful. People love an underdog story and this is definitely one of them.”
