Four men have gone on trial accused of the murder of Carlton man Tony Fisher.

Mr Fisher, 58, was found stabbed to death at his home on Coningswath Road in January last year.

Marcus Barton, 42, of Raymede Drive, Bestwood Estate, his son, Jayden Roberts-Barton, 22, his nephew, Nathan Barton, and Simon Palmer, 43, who was living in Edwin Street, Daybrook, all deny conspiracy to rob Mr Fisher.

All four also deny Mr Fisher’s murder, Nottingham Crown Court was told on Tuesday (March 28).

Mr Fisher was allegedly attacked and robbed in his own home of a stash of cash.

A fifth man, Vincent Hawkings, 31, is also on trial for two offences.

He denies assisting an offender and the alternative and less serious charge of perverting the course of justice.

The trial is expected to last until May 1.
