Man charged with the robbery of Sherwood Rise pensioner

A man has been charged with the robbery of a 77-year-old Nottinghamshire pensioner who was attacked outside her home in Sherwood Rise.

Jean Maddock arrived home late on June 6, and was robbed by her garage as the offender tried to steal her handbag.

Carl Thomas, 48, of Ceder Road, Forest Fields, has been charged by Nottinghamshire Police with the robbery of Jane Maddock on Ebury Road.

During the attack Mrs Maddock was pushed against a wall and received a large cut on her head and bruises over her body. She was later taken to hospital for her injuries.

He grabbed hold of the bag and tossed her around like a rag doll to be brutally honest.
