Nottinghamshire Police have appealed for any witnesses who saw a man being chased into a West Bridgford laundrette with a baseball bat.
A man is said to have sought refuge in the back room of the Mainwise Laundrette on Loughborough Road in West Bridgford after being chased by the attacker with a bat.
Officers were called to the laundrette at 7:30pm on June 24.
The victim or the attacker have not yet been traced.
Nottinghamshire Police are asking anyone with information to come forward by calling 101.
