Man in serious condition after collision in Aspley

A 20-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital after being struck by a car in Aspley.

The collision took place on Melbourne Road, Aspley just after midnight on Sunday June 28.

The man was hospitalised after being struck by a car, his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Nottinghamshire Police have also confirmed that wooden sticks were found at the scene which residents of Melbourne Road said involved a group of young men and teenagers.

The young group were seen chasing each other through gardens with sticks but it is not yet clear whether the sticks were used during the incident.

A 36-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of affray in connection to the incident but has since been let out on bail by Nottinghamshire Police.

Appeals for witnesses are still being made by the police to help find the male driver of the car.
