‘Depraved’ Nottinghamshire man abused young girls

Kenneth Jones, jailed for sexually abusing young girls in Nottinghamshire

A Nottinghamshire man waged a campaign of sexual abuse on young children over more than a decade.

Kenneth Jones was sentenced to 18 years in jail after Nottingham Crown Court  was told he attacked one of his victims when she was five years old and continued until she was 17.

Jones, 43, of Wysall Road, Costock, denied the offences but was found guilty following a trial.

The abuse began in 1999, when he sexually assaulted one victim when she was five, then continued to target her into her teens.

In 2013 it emerged he had also seriously sexually abused another child.

All of the attacks took place at addresses in Nottinghamshire.

Campaign of abuse: Jones’s convictions in full

  • Two counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14
  • Two counts of assault of a girl under 13 by touching
  • Two counts of assault of a girl under 13 by penetration
  • Two counts of sexual assault
  • Two counts of assault of a girl 13 and over
  • One count of rape of a girl under 13

Det Sgt Ashley Xavier, who helped bring Jones to justice, said: “Kenneth Jones is a callous man who repeatedly and horrifically abused two children over a number of years.

“Our thoughts are with his victims, who have shown great courage in coming forward and bringing this
man to justice. Two young lives have been terribly damaged as a result of the depraved actions of this man.

“We will continue to offer them our full support and hope Jones’s prison sentence will give them
some sense of justice being served.”
