Video: Paul Gilford on how The Horse and Jockey won the award
The Horse and Jockey in Stapleford has won the Nottingham LocAle Pub of the Year award for 2016.
The pub was picked as the best of around 150 in Nottinghamshire that have LocAle status, meaning they stock high quality and locally brewed beer or cider.
Judges visited the pubs throughout June and July awarding scores for the quality and range of locally produced beers and ciders.
It’s great to receive recognition of our hard work
Manager of The Horse and Jockey Paul Gilford said: “We do a lot of LocAle business over here such as our house beer that’s brewed only 500m away.
“It’s great to receive recognition of the hard work that we do.
“Hopefully the award will bring a few people over to see the pub again who may have forgotten what we are about.”

“We opened in October 2012 and followed that up with winning the Nottingham pub of the year for two years running.
“We would like to thank everybody who did vote for us and who have made the effort to come over to the pub and see how hard we all work here.”
