Nottingham nightclub the Forum has closed down after eight years in the city.
The Burton Street venue announced the news on its Facebook page, saying owners had “decided to call it a night”.
It is thought Just the Tonic Comedy club, which is in the same building, will not be affected and is running as normal.
In the Facebook post, mangers of the Forum wrote: “We’ve had some great times but now the drink is drunk and the brain is shot we’ve decided to call it a night ..lets face facts, it was getting pretty minging in there anyway.
“We’d like to thank all our friends and regulars for some unforgettable moments, we’ve won both best and worst club awards over the years so we would like to think at some point we’ve made everyone happy.
“Love it or hate it, the Forum will has been a part of Nottingham’s night life history and for that we say thank you and goodnight.”
The Forum changed its Facebook cover photo to a thank you message
The venue was a popular place for students and was famous for its ‘Dirty Mondays’ and ‘Boom Saturdays’ nights.
Organisers added the Dirty Mondays night was moving to a new home in the city.
Notts TV News has contact Just the Tonic for comment and is awaiting a response.
