A Nottinghamshire man has been convicted of helping a teenager to join Islamic State terrorists in Syria.

Adeel Ulhaq, 21, from Sutton-in-Ashfield, was part of an online group which helped the teenager with practical advice.

The Old Bailey heard he and two other men aided him in different ways and also showed support and sympathy for the group.

Ulhaq, of Westbourne Drive, had good contacts in Syria and advised the Cardiff teenager how to get there.

The teenager left the country two years ago and hasn’t been seen since.
