Notts County face tough test against high flying Wycombe

Notts County will be looking to propel themselves up the League Two table against high-flying Wycombe on Easter Monday.

The Magpies are currently enduring one of their worst runs of the season and their performances have seen them rooted stuck in the bottom half of the table of late, not helped by a 4-0 defeat at Portsmouth on Good Friday.

Wycombe are in a good position to make the play-offs again and will present a stern test for new manager Mark Cooper.

The manager has done a brilliant job

Cooper said: “Wycombe are a physically strong side and you have to stand up to them.

“The manager has done a brilliant job there on a shoestring budget and got to the play-off final last season and probably should have won.

“To carry on what they have done to be in and around the play-offs again shows they’re a good team.

“It’s another chance to get three points so whether it’s home or it’s away it’s an opportunity to get some points but I’m looking forward to seeing the guys play at Meadow Lane.”

Earlier in the season Wycombe salvaged a draw against Notts County at Adams Park after coming from behind twice to draw 2-2.

Jon Stead opened the scoring with a penalty before Liam Noble was sent off for the Magpies.

Michael Harriman pegged County back on the stroke of half time before County scored an early second half goal to take a 2-1 lead courtesy of Adam Campbell.

However that lead was not to last as Aaron Holloway scored midway through the second half to level the scores at 2-2.
