Old meets new: Drones film Nottingham’s heritage sites

Wollaton Hall

Newstead Abbey, Wollaton Hall and Nottingham Castle have been filmed by a state-of-the art camera drone to give a birds eye view of the sites.

Local film makers Dave Alexander Smith and David Stewart were funded by a one off grant from the Arts Council to produce three one-minute long videos to showcase the beauty of Nottingham’s three popular heritage sites.

The films are being released to coincide with the October half term, to try and entice Nottingham families to visit the heritage sites for a family day out.

The portfolio holder for leisure and culture, Councillor Dave Trimble, said: “We are privileged here in Nottingham to have these beautiful listed historic buildings open for local people and visitors to the area to explore.”

More information about events and activities is available on the Wollaton Hall, Newstead Abbey and Nottingham Castle websites.
