Man hospitalised by attack outside city centre garage

Police have cordoned off a city centre garage following a serious assault this morning.

Police were called to the Shell garage on Huntingdon Street at 6.30am and a 31 year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

A 19-year-old man has been taken to hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The front of the shop was taped off and a police officer stood guard while two forensic officers examined the scene.

The cordon was removed at around 10.30am.
