Video: Police have sealed off the walkway at the bottom of the steps off Maid Marian Way
Police are investigating after a woman was subjected to a ‘serious sexual assault’ near the Broadmarsh shopping centre on Sunday afternoon.
Officers say it happened underneath the bridge over Maid Marian Way, close to the centre and Collin Street.
Detectives have sealed off a set of steps leading down to a walkway beneath the bridge.

A forensic officer in a white protective suit has also been seen combing the area.
A Notts Police spokesman said: “Nottinghamshire Police is investigating a report of a serious sexual assault which took place late on Sunday afternoon.
“There is currently a scene on at the site as officers investigate what has happened.”
Officers have released no further details but are asking for anyone with information to contact them on 101 quoting incident 826 of February 21.
