Police looking to trace lorry driver after crash kills 21-year-old man

Police officers investigating a fatal car crash are appealing for the owners of three vehicles to come forward.

A 21-year-old man died as a result of the crash on the A6002 Low Wood Road near Nuthall on Friday night.

A Peugeot car the man was travelling in and a Subaru car collied on the road close to the A610 Nuthall island at around 7.30pm.

The female driver of the Peugeot and the male driver of the Subaru are being treated in hospital for injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

No arrests have been made, however investigators want to trace the occupants of three vehicles who may have vital information about the crash.

One is believed to be a silver Vauxhall Zafira which stopped at the scene immediately after the crash, and the other is a dark coloured Renault Megane, whose driver may also have important details about the incident.

Police have also released a picture of a Leyland DAF HGV believed to be in the area at the time, whose driver they believe may have vital information.

Anyone with information about who was in the vehicles or the crash is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 862 of June 17.
