Iain Chambers went behind the scenes at Riverside Festival which starts tonight (Friday August 5) at 6.30pm.

The biggest free festival in Nottingham features four stages of music, street theatre and river activities, all of which are suitable for all ages.

The festival’s famous firework display takes place at around 10.30pm on Saturday (August 6).

We’ve got a few, what we call, white knuckle rides

Speaking about what’s on offer for this year, amusement organiser Bert Holland said: “We’ve got a couple of different big rides this year.

“We’ve also got all the traditional things like the dodgems and hook a duck and we’ve also got a few, what we call, white knuckle rides.

“We’ve got something here whatever age you are.”
