Watch Nottingham Forest legends Des Walker and Teddy Sheringham play for England in a masters match against Germany on Notts TV!

Both teams battled it out in an 80 minute match at the Singapore National Stadium as part of the Battle of Europe campaign.

The full fixture is available to view on Notts TV (Freeview 7, Virgin 159 and Sky 117) tonight (Monday December 12) at 8pm.

Teddy Sheringham played for Forest in the 1991/92 season, scoring 14 goals in 42 appearances for the Reds before being sold on to Tottenham.

Joining him for the England side will be two of his team-mates from Euro 96 – Steve McManaman and Darren Anderton.

Speaking before the game, Sheringham said: “Representing England is always a great honour and my games with the team have all been so memorable.

“It’s a brilliant opportunity for us to get together and play for England again, especially against such a great team like Germany.

“I’m really looking forward to it.”

Sheringham is not the only England player to play with previous Forest experience.

Defender Des Walker made 274 appearances for Forest and scored one goal in his Reds’ career, which was on January 1 1992 against Luton Town.

His son plays for Nottingham Forest and is currently out on loan at Stevenage; he has scored three times in the five appearances he has made so far this season.

Midfielder Carlton Palmer also played for the Reds in 1999, making 16 appearances and scoring one goal.

None of the German players have connection with clubs from Nottinghamshire but some of the England players reached milestones which involved the county’s clubs.

Goalkeeper David James made his debut for Liverpool against Nottingham Forest and defender Michael Gray scored his first Premier League goal for Sunderland against the Reds.

Paul Parker made his debut for Manchester United against Notts County and Lee Hendrie played for Basford United in the 2013/14 season.
