It’s National Volunteers’ Week and Nottingham City Council are asking for you to volunteer your time.

Over 21 million people volunteer in the UK at least once a year and with more Volunteer Drivers needed across Nottinghamshire, now is a great time for you to get involved!

What does a Volunteer Driver do?

Volunteer Drivers are people who use their own cars to transport people referred by Social Workers on regular journeys each week. Some people give 20 hours a month, others 20 hours a week. It is up to each individual volunteer to decide what commitment they can offer.

Why do the council need Volunteer Drivers?

Volunteer Drivers perform a vital and valuable role for Nottingham City Council. There are people living in our communities for whom public transport is not an option and reliable drivers are needed to take these people on regular trips, such as taking a child to school and back each day or to meetings with family members or an adult to a day centre.  Passengers range in age from newborn to 90.
