Festival of Food & Drink

Festival of Food and Drink

In Notts, we’re proud of our amazing food and pubs so it’s no surprise that on Saturday 17 – Sunday 18 September we are hosts to Clumber Park’s Festival of Food & Drink.

So what can you expect?

If you’ve already heard of it, then I’m sure you’ll have seen the all-star line-up of Great British Bake Off’s 2014 winner John Whaite and MasterChef champions Lisa Faulkner and Dhruv Baker, but that’s just the cherry on this magnificent festival pie. Let’s have a look at what’s on…

Food & Drink Exhibitors

We’ll start at the most important part, the Food & Drink marquee, where delicious food and drink producers are brought together with artisan specialists and food experts, introducing you to a whole host of new names and flavours you can test when you next try to impress the mother-in-law. With over 150 of the region’s best brands under one roof the marquee provides exciting show launches and offers the chance to taste their wares before you buy, so you might want to have a light breakfast!

Workshops

If you’re more of a hands-on type of person then this next one should be of interest. There will be interactive cookery classes from The School of Artisan Food, covering everything from barbecuing to butchery for adults and pizza, bread and ice cream making for the children. The not-for-profit organisation is dedicated to teaching skills in artisan food production and was awarded the highly regarded title of Cookery School of the Year in 2014.

Celebrity Chefs & Special Guests

Next we have the star studded line-up of celebrity chefs at the ‘main stage’ that is the Cookery Theatre. Joined by special guests, they will be giving live demonstrations throughout the day, so make sure you don’t miss your favourites. The theatre will feature demonstrations by BBC Celebrity Masterchef winner Lisa Faulkner and well-known local chef Dhruv Baker on Saturday. On Sunday, Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite will appear alongside experienced chef Rosemary Shrager and Indian chef Anjula Devi. The guests will also be signing their latest books in the Food and Drink marquee.

Street Food Vendors

Street Food Vendor“Where’s all the food I can eat?” If that’s you asking that then you won’t want to miss the huge range of street food companies at the show. You can also cool down with a trip to the Red Bus Bar (yes it is a double decker) or a Mojito from Boston Shakers. There’s some of the best flavours from around the world on offer – one recommendation is to soak up the atmosphere and live music playing out from the popular food court area while eating for an even better taste!

From what we’ve seen the festival has everything a food and drink lover would want. You can enjoy a fantastic selection of craft beers, exciting new wines, and a naughty cocktail while choosing which one of the street food vendors to pick for lunch in the festivals pop-up restaurant, complete with live music. With so much delicious food and drink to try and buy, it’s a feast of a day out for all the family.
