A woman was ‘threatened by a man’ and robbed in Bilborough.
The man demanded her bag, containing ‘a quantity of cash’, which the woman handed over.
And the man then ran towards an alleyway, police said.
The incident took place as the woman was leaving a house in Wigman Road around 1.40pm on Monday, June 19.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
A force spokesman said: “She was threatened by a man who demanded her bag which contained a quantity of cash.
“She gave him the bag before he ran off into an alleyway. The victim wasn’t injured.
“The offender is described as being white, with light brown hair, a moustache and a beard. He was scruffy looking and was wearing jeans and a T-shirt.”
