Sponsored-ContentThe best of Nottingham’s young creative talent has been honoured at the Nottingham Playhouse on Wednesday the 18th of May.

Hundreds of people attended the 8th Nottingham Young Creative Awards, which aim to give people aged 13 to 24 who live, study or work in Nottingham the chance to show off their creative work, network with future employers and gain valuable industry experience and mentoring.

A record 350 young creatives submitted their work in 10 different categories this year to meet the 2016 theme of ‘Goals and Dreams’.

Graphic Design

The Graphic Design category looks for submissions from talented young graphic designers which interpret the theme through both their aspirations for the development of the city and the people living within the city.

Submissions for this category approached the ‘Goals and Dreams’ theme in innovative ways – such as as comic strip inspired by the iconic Nottingham left lion statue or a poster inspired by the story of legendary Nottingham designer Paul Smith.

Young Creative Awards Graphic Design

The category was sponsored by Nottingham Trent University’s School of Art and Design – internationally recognised for the high quality of its art and design education provision. The School has exciting and inspiring courses across a wide range of art and design disciplines at undergraduate, postgraduate and research level, whilst it also offers professional and short courses. NTU has been sponsoring Nottingham Young Creative Awards since the competition’s inception, and the University is very proud to be supporting such an important competition.

Further to sponsoring the category and being an integral part in the judging panel – The School of Art & Design have also offered winners in the Graphic Design category the unique opportunity of completing a short course of their choosing at NTU.
