Sponsored-ContentThe best of Nottingham’s young creative talent has been honoured at the Nottingham Playhouse on Wednesday the 18th of May.

Hundreds of people attended the 8th Nottingham Young Creative Awards, which aim to give people aged 13 to 24 who live, study or work in Nottingham the chance to show off their creative work, network with future employers and gain valuable industry experience and mentoring.

A record 350 young creatives submitted their work in 10 different categories this year to meet the 2016 theme of ‘Goals and Dreams’.

Architecture & Design

The Architecture & Design category looks for submissions from talented young designers and architects which interpret the theme through both the development of the city and the people living within the city.

Submissions for this category approached the ‘Goals and Dreams’ theme in innovative ways – such as the development of the Main stand at the Nottingham Forest Ground or proposing new shelters aimed at improving the city’s homeless situation.

Maber

The category was sponsored by maber – an innovative local architecture firm founded in 1983, which specialises in architecture, landscaping, workplace and interior design. The practice is dedicated to developing a truly creative offering, with a strong emphasis on future success and is therefore proud to support the Young Creative Awards to help nurture Nottingham’s designers of tomorrow.

Further to sponsoring the category and being an integral part in the judging panel – maber have also offered winners in the Architecture & Design category the unique opportunity of undertaking internships within the firm and gaining work experience in one of UK’s top 100 practices with an international client-base and a growing team of over 60 committed and motivated professionals.
